Volunteer Opportunities
Seven Fires Art is growing tremendously! To keep pace with the ever-increasing workload and build upon our successes, we are selecting a team of volunteers to help reach the next phase of our MIssion.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas. All positions have the common goal of raising funds to build our programs, generate income for Native Artists, and create jobs in Native communities:

We hope to pay salaries in the future. When positions do become paid, we will make every effort to create those jobs in tribal communities.

Grant Research & Writing
-
Keep a list of relevant granting agencies and a calendar of grant deadlines and other important dates.

Regularly review grant listings, including Foundation Center / Guide Star.

Present opportunities to the Board immediately via email for consideration.

Serve as the contact point with the granting agencies to ensure applications meet requirements.

Work with the board to write and finalize grant applications.

Keep a record of grant applications and awards.

Manage grant reporting and paperwork for awards received.

Fundraising Corporate
-
Seek out Corporate donors and sponsors for Seven Fires Art.

Plan opportunities for approaching prospective corporations
-
Develop recognition / retention program
-
Provide information to web manager for updates to Donors page

Work with Volunteer Program Coordinator as needed

Send annual acknowledgments and tax documents

Fundraising Private
-
Seek out Private donors
-
Develop strategy for reaching and increasing donors (email, events, mail, social media, advertising, etc)

Develop recognition / retention program

Provide information to web manager for updates to Donors page

Send annual acknowledgements and tax documents

Marketing
-
Develop and carry out a marketing strategy for Seven Fires Art, including Social Media advertising and opportunities for free exposure.

Work with Web Site / SEO Manager as needed.

Inventory & Accounting
-
Develop efficient inventory and accounting system such as QuickBooks to work with Shopify.
-
Payroll, Sales Tax, Quarterly and Annual Reporting, Year End Accounting, etc

Virtual Supply Store Development
-
Work with Artists, Director, Online Store Manager, and Artist Liaisons to identify supplies needed by Member Artists
-
Find and maintain a list of online sources for supplies at wholesale prices
-
Develop Agreements with Member Artists for gift or reimbursement of supply cost
-
Order art supplies for pickup by Member Artists, on sale at Michaels.com per Agreement

Events and Opportunities Coordinator
-
Maintain a calendar for artist opportunities including shows, events, grants, artist residencies, etc
-
Maintain communications with Grants Coordinator regarding opportunities for artists
-
Contact Member Artists with relevant opportunities
-
Use SCFNA policies and funds to assist Member Artists with applications, booth fees, travel, etc
-
Web Site Management / SEO
-
Work independently or find and work with Native web development company to improve SevenFiresArt.com and Search Engine Optimization
-
Position could include image protection management and major updates
-
Social Networking
-
Work with Director to create an active social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest
-
Identify and develop a spokesperson for / “face of” SCFNA
-
Follow (and help develop) SCFNA Social Media Schedule and Guidelines

Product Development
-
Develop products for sale on SevenFIresArt.com
-
Artist Liaison
-
Multiple volunteer opportunities available. We would love to have at least one Liaison in each Native community. We hope to develop these into paid Outpost positions.

Recruit New Member Artists
-
Plan opportunities for approaching prospective Members
-
Follow New Artist Signing & Orientation document to welcome and establish working relationships with new artists, including providing custom welcome package, gathering information, establishing Agreements and methods of payment, etc.

Provide New Artist info to Web Site, Social Networking, and Virtual Supply Store Managers

Serve as a shipping station for Member Artists in your community

Volunteer Program Manager

Develop a volunteer program for SCFNA
-
Recruit and manage volunteers
-
Legal Advisor / Attorney
-
Serve as counsel for any contract disputes
-
Review and edit legal documents such as Print Program and Resale Agreements
-
Work should be minimal; this position should not require more than 10 hours per year
-
Videographer
-
SCFNA is in search of a volunteer to lead our video archive program. This individual or team will work with the Grants Manager to first find funding for this project and then find and work with Native videographers in each Native community to record the stories and art of SCFNA Member Artists.
